Kate Beurmann | Senior Attorney & Client Manager

Kate Beurmann is an experienced healthcare revenue cycle management attorney with over a decade of experience. Her areas of expertise include the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), managed care contract interpretation and disputes, and usual and customary underpayments. In her role as client manager, Ms. Beurmann works with the client to resolve wrongfully denied insurance claims and improve the client’s internal recovery efforts. Additionally, Ms. Beurmann is experienced in appealing insurance claims denied for coverage issues, medical necessity and lack of authorization, as well as resolving inter-plan disputes.

Prior to joining SHP, Ms. Beurmann amassed a decade of experience in revenue cycle management, including directing the operations and client management departments of a small-sized revenue cycle consulting firm. Between 2008 and 2011, she was heavily involved in negotiating settlements, contract provisions, and bulk project processing on behalf of a large for-profit health system’s southwest-based market.
